That I've never done...but the hot black oil that drips on my wrist and down my arm when I remove the old filter happens every time. :doh:

The picture looked like a fuel filter and NOT an oil filter. But, it was still a mess to clean up.
I'll bet you only do that once...

Try drilling a small hole in the bottom of the filter or center punch a small hole in the filter. Works like a charm.
