I was thinking that if a muffler shop removed it, and were caught it could cost them the $25.000. Didn't know they had passed it down to the owner of the car or truck.

ha, no not at all. I dont have such an experience. I just saw the sign on the door at autozone one day. I think it is dumb since a cat was never required to begin with. I just don't like how if you get accused of something and you are in fact innocent, you end up paying out the wazzoo to dodge the bullet.
