I have had K&N filters on many vehicles over the years and thay work just fine but I dont like the cold air kit for the psds. With the high under hood temps the kit looks like it would pull all that hot air. I have the airaid kit on my 06 and love it was my first mod and I could tell the difference in performance. Just keep it clean and oiled. The banks kit looks good too but thats just my:2c

Been running the first production K&N FIPK kit made for the OBS trucks for over 5 years now and 100K+ Miles.

NO Dust, NO Nothing!

I have checked it over and over again, still good ;)

I have been running k&n for years and have tried putting some grease(just smearing some on the inside of the tube) just past the filter to see if it would collect dirt. I didn't see anything. I think on the OBS if you went with the k&n to replace the factory those had some problems letting it by if it didn't get tightened down correctly.

That is the filter I had my problems with. I guess they are OK after all. That is good as I can't see a company doing business with junk products in this market. I retract my last post.

Dave,

And even on those, you needed the upgraded box bolts and had to make sure to get enuff greese on top/bottom of the filter for it to seal, and even then, it took ALOT of work to make it SEAL right.

The stock box is JUNK, but that goes for all of the stock boxes ;)

I had an AFE Pro Gaurd 7 replacement filter for mine, but went back to stock, and did not notice any difference in power or mileage. If I get another filter, I want one that does not need oil, like the AEM Bruteforce or something.

I think the only way power is noticed is when you do the whole intake. I think it is kind of like putting in stg II injectors and leaving the factory programming. Just my two cents.
