Thats odd; I heard it was called the "DuraStroke". I believe its an in-line 7 cylinder with 3 sequential turbos, 4 egr valves and 2 DPF's. The transmission could be the big story, though. Its an Allison / Aisin hybrid that will have 3 reverse gears and 1 forward speed. I can't wait to see the wicker interior option myself.

With the car industry in the current situation, this actually might be a good idea. GM and Ford have already teamed up on transmissions. Also, many of the Class 6,7 & 8 trucks share engines (Cummins, Catepillar, etc.), transmissions (Allison), and other parts. Many times, the biggest difference in some of the trucks are the cabs. Many years ago when I worked at a small Ford dealer in Louisiana, some of the local loggers bringing their Chevrolets to our shop for axle and transmission repairs because they liked our mechanics better than the ones at the Chevy dealer.

The other April Fools article that pickuptrucks.com had about Dodge going back to rear leaf springs was a good one too. To be honest, I've always thought that leafs were better for rear suspensions on trucks than coils. Chevy had rear coils for several years and went back to rear leafs.
