I have Bob's coolant filter on my X but installed it in a different place than his instructions stated. I put it behind the LF wheel mounted on the inside of the rocker panel and installed some ball valves from the hardware store to make changing the filter easier with out loosing too much coolant. I also made up a small shield under the filter to keep the tires from throwing things at it. There are some PICS in my signature.

As usual, I did it different

I did a modified FMT install  You can look at the pics here which is pretty much the same place, but you'll notice I crammed a Premo in there :thumbs anyway, I ordered 4 extra filters from Bob in anticipation of clogature (is that a word  ) anyway, I changed it after like 8k mi (don't hold me to that, but it was close) just cuz. I would open the hood, and hit the go pedal only to watch the coolant flood into the resivor so it was not clogged at all. I just changed it for GP :cowboy:

Do you buy your filters from Bob or a local Baldwin dealer? I've got three (1 + 2 spares) but I'll need more soon enough.

HERE is where I stuck mine. Bob's kit now comes with a similar, but nicer, bracket.

I've been using the filter for a couple of years. When I switched to Evans, the antifreeze that I drained out was real clean, and it had a lot of miles on it, probably over 30K.
I mounted the filter up on the radiator support crossover, next to the battery. (99.5 and up might not work since I do not have the air tube to the front of the truck). I 't'ed into the line going to the overflow tank, and made the filter return the straight part of the 'T'. The feed for the filter was from the water pump, and I used a 45 degree brass fitting off of the pump.
I'll try to get some pictures.
