He called them and the price was under 2K but that refund thing sounds real fishy to me.
Let me know what you find out.
Thanks.

just got off the phone

SNAKES SNAKES SNAKES

Don’t let dad call em or send money

I used a Modified VIN,
WOW even with 45 k on the fictious truck.
all for the low low price of 312 down NOW and 18 payments of 155.61, total price 3112.98.
bumper to bumper any ford dealer or ASE technician ;)
also has roadside asst. similiar to AAA
High pressure sales guy,
I asked to think about it and call back.
He got angy and said There is no call back, this is a one time good deal your saving over 20% , yeah right, he siad if had been my first notice it would have been more expensive, due to the fact that the truck is in a grey area of needed maintenance based on failure analysis, engineers know its about to start costing me $$$, so they are here to save the day.
I suggest everyone here call em with a VIN you made up
You do get a 100% refund if you FILE no claims, minus certain fees, to remain nameless until your policy arrives in 10 days.

Oh and he kept saying this is your final warranty notice, (BS) you must act now to preserve your warranty, that’s funny, it’s a made up VIN. :sweet
And its only good for 6yrs or till the odo reaches 100k

I asked for a faxed copy of the warranty details because the sheet is so vague, he said cant do it, but you have 30 days to cancel, with a small fee i bet.
He got real nasty -mad when i said i needed to read the warranty before i purchase it and made a decision spending over 3k, the line got silent like i was not supposed to add it up while on the phone.

UPDATE
it gets better
I called them back and used a VIN one digit off and a florida zip
same miles. price jumped to over 4k
and its only my Second notice:eek:
what a LOAD of COW droppings:D

The first thing I think I should say is that "I have my SDD forum member hat on" and not anything that says RV dealership on it.

I read about an extended warranty issue in a camping/ trailer magazine I subscribe to. In that particular case, the person had an extended warranty on his RV. At the end of the warranty period, he was supposed to be eligible for a refund if no claims were made, which none were. But out of the fee he had paid, a % went to the RV dealer, a % went to the salesman and the rest went to the company providing the warranty coverage.

Well, the original RV dealership went under, so no refund there. The salesman went away with the dealership he worked for, no refund there. The warranty company was being difficult and was very resistant to meeting their end of the contract until the magazine intervened on behalf of their subscriber. Since two of the parties were out of business, the only $$ the person got back was from the warranty company, but that was only under threat of bad press.

I don't know of anybody who has had an extended warranty that hasn't ended up being more trouble than they are worth. The warranty companies always seem to come up with some excuse to wiggle out of paying up, the repairs weren't "pre-approved", repairs were not done at an approved repair facility or the cause of the needed repairs was due to abuse or neglect.

Doesn't surprise me that the Florida price was higher. Even Ford ESP is $2000 higher on their Premium plan for 7 year/100,000 mile warranty. If I give my sister's address in Alabama just 45 minutes away, think of the money I could save IF I weren't an honest man. But the only people who make money on those warranties are the warranty companies in my opinion.
