a past (painting & siding) customer asked me what it would cost to R&R a sky light on her roof, the pitch is nothing more than 6-12. what do you ll think, they have the sky light.
any residential contractors on here???

How big's the skylight? How long does it look like it would take to do the job? I would think at least 4 hours and depending on if you have to have help with you anywhere between $250-500.

Skylight is 6ft by 3ft. The skylight is alun framed so no help needed but there will be some shingles and tar needing applied

Figure how much you need an hour it's going to take anywhere between 4-6 hours.
Do you have to replace the interior parts too?
If it's leaking up top, I'm sure there will be some interior damage too. IE. Ceiling damage? re-finish ceiling? Sprayed ceiling? smooth? water damage to rafters? Or just just replacing the skylight itself?
Or is it just a faded skylight? If thats the case 300-500 should do it. Lots of options here. Also you could just bid high and tell them worst case scenario then go lower on your price if it doesnt take you as long as you thought. Then both parties will leave happy.

you will find rotten plywood under the shingles 9 times out of ten. i could tell you the CT price....but that would just scare you!

what do you mean scare me, i can do any roof repair,heck i did my full replacement roof ( my brother and me
) last dec after ikeThe sky light is being replaced cuz last year a tree limb fell on it and cracked the plex glass, no leakingother than that.
i just never did a sky light for a customer

CT is the abbeviation for Connecticut. He's probably saying that it's alot more expensive there than in other areas.
