Its a katydid. About as common as fleas, crickets, ants and bee's. Never saw one??

i have only seen one of these below in my lifetime so far. i have been told that the "walking stick" is a rare thing to see. anyone ever seen one before?

hell, they're everywhere..
I had one on the side of my house the other day & though a stick got caught in a spiderweb... then it started to crawl up the garage wall...
look on anything that gets aphids... rosebushes, fruit trees, my wife's hydrangea bush (that's where this one was going)...

Hope Katy doesn't eat all the bushes in your area. Might have to eliminate her and then call her "Katydidn't"!!!

Around here we call them Katydids also. I just wonder how it got so far North! I wish he or she would have showed some of the darn Mosquitoes the way!
