what the hell is this thing?i went to the state forest today and it was on the bed rail of the truck.well i get home and its on my roof!!!what is it?it looks like a leaf or something from the side

I'm not an insect guy, but I think it's a Katydid...

I just did some googlin and it appears to be a Leaf Bug or a Katydid. There are about 25 species of flat green insects (family Phylliidae) with a leaflike appearance so narrowing it down would take a bug guy.
