Anyone know if a Slant/Fin Eutectic EC-10 is a good boiler? Looking at going with the EC-15 with Thermatic Control and a Riello burner. Have a burnham now but it is cracked and the local dealers/installers don't recommend them anymore due to cracking. I have bids for a new system ranging from 8K-15k and have decided to do it myself. I have one bid that is close to 12k with this boiler yet now that I priced the boiler I am wondering what the other 7k is for as I can do it myself for under 5k with all new zone valves, indirect Slant/Fin water heater, pumps, garage unit heater and plumbing. The Boiler itself is $2845 with the Thermatic control, the water heater is $915 and the rest is pumps, unit heater and plumbing.

Is is a good looking unit compared to the old style:

Well I hope it is a good one because I tore the old one out and started installing the new one.

Old one was looking very old:

New one is looking sharp. I even painted the wall :)

I guess break time is over back to it.......

Gee down here i just open the window when I want heat, no fancy rig with miles and miles of pipe.

Not to mention that it's 94° today

The new one looks much nicer than the old one so it gets pretty points :dunno

Keep up the good work
