Well.. Mine is a Craftsman, puts out 2800 psi, 5 different nozzles and soap dispensing capable... so far, I haven't found anything I can't destroy (if I not careful), peel or remove.. :D

depends on what you wana be capable of doing.

Joe

Used it the other day.. to remove 5+ coats of paint off of some Hvac air-intake grills :dunno

Used it many times to de-grease engine blocks & tranny's.

I would look at commercial trucking, Trailer washouts and wash downs and so on. But if you do get a presser washer get one with a steamer unit makes life EZer.

I would go after the oil rig if any are around you.

I'm looking at a trailer setup, 3500-5000 psi, steam capible unit, 20-25 hp honda skid unit, putting it on a. 16-18 ft trailer, work lights on top for night work and 2 275 gal water tanks, I'm just wonder on which brand skid unit is recomended or liked, the range from 4500-12000, this is what throws me off

I agree with Hotsy. We have a diesel powered steam cleaner at the dealership. I cant remember who makes it but that thing is awesome. Defintley get a steam cleaner. That will take anything off almost. Also if you are gettin a smaller pressure washer, just remember you get what you paid for. We are a lawn and garden dealership also. I work in the lawn and garden department and I work on ALOT of cheap washers. Its usually the motor you dont have to worry about, its the pumps. There are cheap pumps out there and I see them lock up all the time. You need a good commercial grade washer for what yer doin so you dont have to work on it all the time. Gettin a washer with a Honda or Kawasaki on it is def a plus. Of course most reasons for pump and engine failures are lack of oil from lack of maintenance, especially when it comes to the pump. Pumps need their oil changed too IF it is a lubed system. Some dont have oil in them or very very little.

Couple other pointers-
GPM is more important than PSI. I just bought a 5 year old stationary unit, 2000 psi and 4 gpm, LP heater (350,000 btu ). My old one is 3000psi and 3 gpm, diesel fired 250,000 btu. found that I was turning the pressure down (on the old one) to minimize grease/ grime blow back and save the paint.

Also a belt drive, slow speed pump lasts much longer than a direct drive high speed one.

I'd find your local Hotsy or other commercial dealer and call em. Most really know their stuff. It's expensive too  not that you'd necessarily buy from them, will learn a lot though.
