I never said the rear door handles were a GOOD idea! I saw someone selling them as anti theft devices and i said the same thing. I guess if you really wanted to do it, you could wire to battery charging posts in the wheel well. That way you could charge the battery just in case.

dan no problem...i was just pointing out the potental problem of
not having a key hole/access.

fwiw i have a charging plug mounted at the rear of my truck...right
next to my relocated block heater (i back my truck up to the garage)...
but now that i live in tomball i probably wont EVER have to use
the block heater.

i was being sarcastic there. I hate how things dont come out the way you want when you type. Thats a good idea to put the plug on the back. I never back my truck in and always run the cord around the front.

4dr...no problem.

oh man i just saw youre from Yardley (my parents grew up in newtown/langhorne) anyway...

i basically made my OWN extension cord...got some heavy 3 conductor
(flexible) black wire from lowes (think its 10ga) and put the marinco
outlet on the back & a plug on the front (and plugged it into the
factory cord).

at 1st i was gonna cut the factory cord & thought MAN...what if i
ever need to plug in @ the front of the truck...this way i can just
pull the cords apart (theyre coated w/ dilactric grease & duct taped
to keep the connection clean of dirt etc).

i hated the cords layin down the drive way edge and in front of the
truck (when i lived in virginia)...w/ the outlet on the BACK of the
truck i just ran the wire under the garage door (and it was outta
sight).

How about hooking up an electric fence transformer to the rods so when they hit them they get the shock of a lifetime! Man that would make a great video!!

Pep Boys had an alarm a while back that had rods that you put inside the doors that did just that. Sent out like 25,000 volts when it was activated. I went to buy it, but they quit carrying it a while back. Can't imagine why. . .

i just disconnected and removed my rods from the tumbler to the lock. yes you can still pop the handle bit it wont open the door,
batteries what batteries let road side figure that one out :dunno :D :D

this wil ljust slow em down, its stil leasy enough to get in , but atleast they wil lhave to regroup and maybe its long enough for someone to notice or my alarm to irritate them :dunno
