Seeing as I have an '06, I guess I'm looking at needing a tuner to get rid of the chk light. The coolers on the site you referenced... I can see they're a much better unit, but in the end, isn't getting rid of the EGR a better solution in the long run?

Its up to you - If you are going to run a tuner then doing the EGR delete is probably the best route to go and is probably better for the truck in the long run, but if you are like me and don't want to use a tuner than the updated cooler is the way to go - Especially where some states are becoming stricter on emissions testing for diesels. Either way you can't miss. My truck is all stock now but i may install the updated cooler someday... Talk to some of the other guys on here about different EGR delete kits - I know some are better than others.
