hi all, probably the same question you have heard a dozen times, but... should I:

go to the local muffler shop and straight pipe my 6.0, or

save some cash and buy a cat back system, or

save more cash and buy a turbo back system?

looking for more mileage/power, without being obnoxious in the cab. Gonna take the diesel on vacation this year, and I don't wanna give us all a headache. any info is appreciated. you all have been very helpful already.

thanks,
doug

I have Turbo-back MBRP Cool Duals on my 05 with the cat delete pipe and MBRP muffler, it sounds really good when you get on it, and not too loud inside.

MBRP...its stainless & fits <w/out fuss>.

if you weld something up and your
dealer complains youll be SOL.

go w/ a turbo back and cat delete
(aka test pipe)...the cat delete
pipe bolts in and out just a few
(15min) for warranty issues.

On my 05 I have a kitty go bye-bye pipe into a Y pipe to dual 3" custom bent pipes out behind rear tires. Sounds sweet outside and not at all loud inside. Most of the time cant even hear it.

Like everyone else said. Save up the bucks and get the MBRP with kitty delete. Use the muffler. My truck sounds awesome. And like Bush said.....it bolts right up man!

Call the boys at DPPI and let them set you up right.

oh yeah, one more question... is stainless worth the extra money, or would aluminized be the better option? Here in Indiana they use a lot of salt on the roads, so I was just wondering.
thanks again

the truck has a stainless exhaust from the factory... i wouldnt
recommend that you go w/ anything LESS than the factory
gave ya to begin w/.

most of us bought these trucks to keep till the wheels fall off,
buy something thatll last...put quality parts (thatll last) on it ;)
