Just to let everyone know my complaints on the 08 are very real. So far this is the list after three weeks in the shop
radiator
ac condensor/lines also
torque converter already blued over
up pipe
two turbos leaking b/w the two at the connection
rear main seal
egt sensor loose in the pipe and crossthreaded from factory
and multiple leaking gaskets.
Ford is still trying to find the source of all the problems still so who knows when it will be done.
I am glad to know the torque converter and trans were already toast. That means this is a go out on the town truck dont use it to pull anything if you have one .
after this list it amazing it ran without setting any codes
;tu ;tu ;tu
all hail the new 2008's right

as for finding the 'source' - i'd say it was the friday workers who went out all weekend and came back monday w/ a hangover......

hope it gets solved and you are back on the road trouble free..

look at it this way.. At least it was warranty work, and reduces the chance of it happening again on your dime. I do however also undertand how frustrating it is to be without your truck. (trust me..I know). Hope everything works out and she runs trouble free.

at what point do they have to buy it back? I think that is where I would be headed at this point.

yeah this whole situation almost put my business into bankruptcy honestly. Fords answer was its not their responsibility, and I quote "its not our problem I should have a backup truck any way" My answer was with a 2008 50k truck I never thought I would really need to buy a 99 with 200k miles to actually do the work right. the dealer, here in VA anyway, has to try to repair the same issue three times, then a letter is written and they are given one more chance to fix it, then it becomes lemon.
You know the worst hting is this
many years ago i bought a focus for an econo box......buy back ford couldnt fix it

repalced with a newer focus ....buy back again

purchased a 2001 f150...good truck

purchased a 2002 which I still own GT mustang off the carrier....six months with 85 miles on it in the shop trying to find out why when I started it it backfired blue flames and shut off......my wife drove taurus for her new mustang. new computer wiring harnesses, reprogramming, paint peeling off hood new alternator , batteries and ignition parts almost lemon law

2004 f150 shut off at stop lights repaired

2006 f350 drw 6.0 2wd blew two injectors less than 1 month after i bought it
buy back and now the 2008.....

So i wonder how many times my dumbass will buy a ford?? I guess you could say Ford kinda owes me one by now dont they?? Ford fan or just idiot I am:dunno :dunno
BY the way the only scary thing is, if this did this in 40k what will it do out of warranty?

major props on stickin with the ford man... I had problems with my 08, but not as bad as yours i guess. If i were you i would burn that place down. Actually, i would set the rig on fire and put a brick on the right pedal and wave goodbye as it barrels into the showroom. (vent...)
