Last month, whilst Ruff'n it and enjoying the Great Outdoors (watching NASCAR on Satellite TV) near Gilroy Ca. a Freak gust of wind (mini tornado thingy) took out our Awning. Busted the top & bottom support arm hinges and flipped the WHOLE awning.. Up & Over the roof:eek::eek:.

Assessed the damages.. None to the rig, but the awning parts & pieces were trashed.. so I cut the whole thing off with a razor knife'n rolled it up. RV Park guy said: Leave it, Ill pick it up later and put it with " all the others" ... Happens now'n then in this area.... and sped away in his Golf Cart.

Anywayz... I replaced it with a 9100 series A&E, 12v, Power Awning :sweet. SLICK set up. poke a button, powers out.. tighten 2 tension knobs= Done deal. 30 seconds. Reverse the 3.. yer good to go. No diagonal arms to duck under. I'm like'n it ;tu;tu

Sooo, if anyone looses theirs or needs to replace one, or wantsta Up-grade.. ya might wana check'm out ??

Sounds pretty nice. I used to install awnings on RV's when I was in high school and just after. I never had a chance to do one of those, not even sure if they were around back then (early 90's) Did mostly A&E's, nice product.
I think we will be needing some pics of this!!!

How hard was it to run the 12v wiring?

Does your unit have sheet metal sides or a smooth fiberglass wall laminate?

Nothing hard about it TG. The original was an A&E so I measured center to center at the top brackets and ordered accordingly, from A&E. Everything New fit exactly where everything Old was.. including the new upper bracketry and lag bolt hole spacing. (I shot some Dicor in the holes and let it set up, waiting on delivery)

The 12v hook-up was easy. I knew that inside the right front storage compartment, behind the light, was where the Batt power fed up to the inverter/power panel, so I tapped in to it at the terminal connection.. put 15 amp breaker in-line, and installed the rocker switch.. next to the light.

Drilled a hole through the Fiberglass Laminate at the bottom of the front vertical awning bracket/support.. poked the wires through, sealed it with Dicor.. Testo Testo....... Done Deal.

Don't have my Camera with me Bama.. we're at Morro Bay. (on the CenCal Coast)

All of my install would be inclusive to our 02 Montana RL but these installs aren't hard to do. I do some As Needed, Day Labor RV repair/install stuff for my local RV guy, if or when he gets backed up. The one thing I've learned thru the years is: They're ALL basically the same.. you just need to Reconnoiter..... where things are :lmao:lmao

Go to Campers World then poke Awnings and look at the A&E 9100.. yul see a pic of the one I went with :dunno

Also here.
A&E 9100 Power Awning - Item - Camping World

That's the way I will be going when the wind takes the one I have now away.
Doug

Thats the one Doug ;tu

After the "Adventure", I noticed that the 7 year old fabric was starting to delaminate.... so I would have been replacing IT, anyway. A Good time to Up-Grade.. In my thinking too.

The fabric on the 9100 is thicker and seems of much better quality also.

OEM verses Aftermarket I guess. :dunno
