I clean mine every oil change sometimes more depending how many bugs it sucks up.

Every oil change?? Watch for pinholes, over cleaning is a common problem just as is over oiling of the oil cotton gauze medias.


Get a prefilter to help keep the big stuff out.

Yea Its alot but where I park at work is purty dusty with the trucks drivin thrugh. Plus the bugs have been bad driving home at 2am. I just cleaned it tonite (about 8000mi) and it was a mess If my wife had seen the tub when I was rinsing it out I would be in trouble
