air filter cleaning

how often (ballpark) to you clean your aftermarket open element air filters?

i've never kept track, but it seems that since i did the Zoodad mod...my filter got more filthy than it has ever been.

I think a screen would be a good idea to install.

Can a dirty air filter affect boost psi?

Yes, it will make the incoming air more restrictive and thus less boost. Common physics.

well, i got lucky and got the stage II for a stage I price. I love it, afe comes highly recommended, but i haven't tried anything else. whoever makes that "dry" reusable filter, that sounds like a good idea.

In 01 Ford made a Platinum Edition. That is what it is. Ever since I got mine I have seen them all over the place. There are 6 in a 20 mile area around me. Sweet deal on your stage II. Can't wait to get mine.

I clean mine every oil change sometimes more depending how many bugs it sucks up.

Never.. I throw it away and replace it when it gets to looking dirty.

x2. A 6637 filter is cheap enough that swapping it once a year isn't a major expense.
