Im no ac mechanic so if im off some where please let me know :):dunno:):dunno
My question is , on my 00 f350 my ac doesnt blow cold at all anymore. I hooked up gauges and pulled a vaccum and no leaks. I started to charge it at it took the charge up to 30ish to 40ish on the low side, as my compressor was kicking on and off. then the compressor stopped turning on and then the pressure on the low side shot up to 80ish - 100ish..... if i wait a long time and restart my truck the ac works again intill i go some where and raise the rpms over 1500.

so what is going on here.
let me know your in put.;tu

two possibilities..

clutch is weak
pressure switch has faulted

when it quits, shut the engine off, turn it back to Key On Engine Off (KOEO) and touch a screwdriver blade against the clutch plate; if it's magnetized, you can try the Tbar mod.. remove the bolt holding the plate on, and pull one of the shims down inside the hub

if it's not magnetized, then you need to get a test light or a volt meter and start checking power backwards from the clutch coil

Dude.. if you do this with a voltmeter, remember Ohm's law... your clutch coil is a load, so 12v or so on one side and 0v on the other IS A GOOD READING IF you have continuity through the clutch and and resistance less than 10,000 ohms

probably quite a while.
back in the day, when we used to rebuild them in-house, we used to prefer the air gap on the tight side to begin with

Hey guys, my compressor is kicking on and off and the pressure is going from good with the compressor off and when it kicks on the pressure will drop to low and then kick off again. Please help. As i normally don't work with A/C stuff and have no clue.

without knowing the exact pressures.. I'd GUESS it's a tad bit undercharged..

OK this might be my fault then. I was having high egt towing in july so I tried to fix my condenser with a tooth pick and might have sprung a leak. SO my next question is can I trust the condenser from autozone? Mine has the imprint of a deer in it still on top of a possible leak.

If there's any oily/wet looking areas, anywhere on the condenser.. you prolly have leak.

With a Deer Strike.. you just might need to replace it ?

AZ warranties~Guarantees just about Everything, Parts wize, they sell theze dayz.

Right? and if so what tool do I ask for to change it out? and its at the bottom of the silver tanky thing?? sorry to sound so dumb but haven't had to many problems with a/c. and get the vov and not the fixed?

This is the first auto I have owned where the a/c has worked! :coffee
