Air Conditioning Issue

I am having some AC problems. Let me start by saying I haven't even looked at the thing yet but I would like a few Ideas. I am far from a AC mechanic so be easy.
I thought my AC was low a couple weeks ago so I added a can to the system. The can didn't really make a difference.
I drove around for awhile with the AC on to see what would happen and after 10 minutes or so of warm air, it went cold.
Today I was driving home and again the AC was warm, then all of a sudden 10 miles into the trip it went nice an cold again.
Like I said I haven't even looked at it so I am not sure if the clutch is locking up or not.

Check out the pic below. I could touch the factory plug and the compressor would cut on and off with every touch. I cut off old plug and took some speaker connectors and connected them to the old wires and plugged it back in and it was fixed. Takes 5 minutes to fix. Took half the summer to finally figure it out! hope this helps! other will chime in also. Good luck

And.. the same connector issue can happen with the Pressure Switch connector.. located just behind, and to the left of the Compressor.

Check the compressor clutch air gap.

My AC does that same thing from time to time... but my plug is different... its 'bigger' then the one in the picture. Cords look to be in good shape. It only does it when I'm driving and I either go from full AC to AC (vice versa) or when I change the blower speed.

Thanks for the responses guys, I am going to head out and wiggle both wires to see what happens. I was under it today for the first time with the AC on and the clutch was not turning. I drove it for awhile and it started working then stopped again.
I will update with what I find.

I thought of the air gap Roy but it went from working to nothing, usually you have intermittent AC with that issue. I will check it anyway to make sure.

When it is not engaging properly tap the front of the clutch with a screw driver handle. If it kicks in it would suggest excess air gap.

I did crawl under it yesterday and the clutch wasn't turning with the AC on. I wiggled the wires which did nothing then I taped the clutch a couple times and it kicked on but shut off a couple seconds later. I tapped it a few more times but couldn't get it to engage again.

I think I will give the shim kit a shot.

If your low on the the R134 the clutch wont kick on right. But the clutch will kick on and over time it will cool so so. Need to check the psi on the R134 first on both the high and low sides. R134 evaporates over time.
