I've decided to hook my AIH back up this winter to aid in its cold weather starting. I hooked it back up and it doesn't work. I have voltages where I should be no output on the solenoid. I did some searching and couldn't find a part number and the local part stores said they couldn't get it. I called a local Ford garage and they gave me a number that matches the factory glow plug solenoid. Is that correct? Or is there somewhere else I can get a factory one or good replacement.

Also, just to double check to make sure my solenoid is bad, can someone tell me the voltages that should be on the terminals?

With the truck cold and weather under 32 degrees, I had +12v on the main feed wire and the little wire to its right. The wire going to the AIH and the little wire to its left were both dead.

The AIH does not function during cold or any other starting. It is there for extended idling in cold weather under very specific parameters.

well, he lives in Minnesoooootah... where it can get cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey... I'd say he should hook it up.

Just pointing out that it will not do what he thinks it will and the reason he decided to hook it back up.
