to make sure i am thinking the intake? is that the large 90 degree elbow real close to the egr valve? that sometimes you remove to clean cause of the egr?

whats the hose go to thet connects to it? make sure i am going to go to the right spot. I know this question sounds stupid

YES that is the air intake from the intercooler to the manifold. It has NOTHING to do with the EGR valve or cooler. The big elbow where I added my boost gauge fitting. You need to get a manual to give yourself an education on your truck. Ebay had Ford DVD manuals that are good.

the egt & trans gauge are the most necessary.
heres proof the factory trans gauge is nothing more than
an "idiot light" w/ a needle on it -->
LINK: VISUAL PROOF the Trans gauge is WORTHLESS

the 05+ trucks have a factory boost gauge but it leaves plenty
to be desired...not many markings and not much "sweep" so its
inherently inaccurate...if youre gonna add a boost gauge then
drill and tap the elbow (its reported that those who have not
drilled and tap'd for the boost gauge wind up w/ buzzing/noisy
gauge)

again the boost is nice to have but the EGT & Trans are more
important (no matter if you tow or not).

heres some gauge installation instructions specific to the 6.0L.
