Where is a good place to mount an oil pressure sender on an 05 6.0?

I've seen guys run out of the top of the oil filter lid, but that method doesn't appeal to me too much. Where else do people go? Does anyone use the test port on the filter base? If so, what thread is it? Also, does anyone know if this pressure port is before or after the oil filter? I am also thinking about using this as my bypass filtration starting point, but it would need to be after the primary filter then. Anybody want to chime in?

I dont' know about an 05, but on my 06, you can't even see that test port hole... there's a fairly well attached bracket in the way first...

So where are other 6.0 folks running their oil pressure sender? I have even had an Isspro engineeer tell me he would get back to me on a location for it, but I've never heard anything back from him.

so is that amsoil "plumbers dream" t-ing off the factory
pressure sender / switch ?

if not thats where i suggest...1 its at the top of the motor
(so you can confirm oil/pressur is getting circulated THRU the
motor and to the TOP)

I always knew amsoil would be good for something.

Yeah, they are T'ing off of the factory oil pressure switch location to run their bypass filtration. I am thinking of doing something similar to run my pressure sender.

What do you mean by top of the motor?

What kind of bypass filtration are the people on this forum running?

Amsoil, Oilguard, FS2000, etc?

the factory sending unit is in the top of the motor...and i think thats
the BEST location for a pressure gauge...

if you pick up the pressure from a lower point/location on the motor
theres no proof that the oil/pressure is good OR GETTING to the top
of the motor.

Gotcha, I had an inkling thats what you were talking about, but not sure.

How do you feel about putting the hollow bolt setup in the oil pan for the return line of a bypass fillter? Or would you rather go into the oil filler cap?

I personally like the idea of return oil into the oil pan. I'm not a big fan or dropping cooler oil (from a bypass filter) on top of a hot engine. That hollow bolt thing that Amsoil sells just seems like a future leak that you'll never get fixed. I'm thinking about installing a T fitting in the drain plug hole to install the return line and keep my drain valve.

that would be my plan as well once the weather warms up a bit. Tee tree should work just fine, plus you can actually see it! I'd think you'd be fine putting the oil in high on the motor, even if it is a bit cooler, It's not like you're flowing 50gpm of oil flow...
