Adding a Shackle/Hanger kit to a 5.5" lift

I have a Fab-tech 5.5" lift kit on my truck. I want to go a little bigger, for looks as well as to clear 37 or 38" tires. I would love to purchase an 8" DR but I just don't have the funds at this point.

Could I simply install a 2-3" shackle and hanger kit to achieve the desired height? Any particular kits to look at? Will the kits be compatible with my Fab-tech springs?

Assuming your truck has a leaf spring front end, YES. Fabtech makes a kit and Pro-comp also makes a kit. I have the Pro-comp 2" shackle kit on my truck which I orginally added to the already esisting 6 inch skyjacker lift. Since then I have swapped out the 6" spring for 8" inch springs. (10" of lift total) I went with the Pro-comp kit because it comes with all the parts needed to properly complete the lift. (extended spring hangers and shackles, front shocks, front driveshaft spacer, rear carrier bearing spacer, trac bar correction, and longer front sway bar links) The kit is designed to add to procomps 6.5" lift. The only thing in the kit that is missing is an extreme drop pitman arm for an 8" lift. The Part# for the kit is 52484B and it retails for about $500US. The extreme drop pitman arm is around $150.

I ran 37x13.5R16's on 16x10 wheels with the 6 inch lift without rubbing 38x15.5R20's on 20x10 wheels with the 8 inch lift without rubbing, and this year with the 10" lift I am hoping to run 40's
