My HPOP has no leaks, got them taken care of. The mechanic who did the fix also looked inside it and said it was looking pretty good, no significant amount of sludge.

and you're right, I've found my truck to be pretty sensitive to total oil level - when it gets down more than a quart it starts to run a little loud, so I top off at that point.

I'm getting a new turbo put on (had some issues with the old one), and with turbo, intake, exhaust and new programs, I think it's going to be time to look at an HPOP upgrade. While I'd like the power that I could get from it, my understanding is that many people are seeing mileage improvements from them too, and that's part of my motivation. Have to wait on the cashflow though, and get more info on them as time goes on.
