Yesterday I started the truck and the blower fan didn't work. Opened the hood to check the compressor and it wasn't turning. Slammed the hood in disgust and they both came on. What should I look for? Is there a fuse or circuit that works both the compressor and blower?

Seems like slamming the hood and everything works... ? sez the fuses are okay ?

One thing to check.. Just behind, and to the left of the A/C compressor.. is a pressure switch, w/connector. Unplug it and clean the contacts (I used a trimmed down cardboard fingernail file), dress it with a dab of dielectric grease.. reconnect.

And FWIW ? I give the Fan speed and Blend knobs full twists.. now & then, seems to keep everything blow'n and go'n where I want it.

Joe

Also the connector at the A/C clutch can get dirty too ?

Thanks Joe......cleaning the connectors makes sense. I just can't figure out why I had zero fan activity at the same time. Both stopped working and started working simultaneously.

I hear ya T. These things are so complex anymore.. it's frustrating when these "Anomalies" happen.

Maybe just keep an eye on things ? See if it happens again ? Batt post/clamps ? Ignition switch, GEM module..... on & on.

There's been acouple'a.. under-dash fuse blocks being corroded, from windshield leaks on here lately.. maybe look at that ??

Yep, I had my windshield leak into the cab causing my fuse block to corrode. I was able to save it by carefully taking apart the fuse block and gently bead blasting the contacts/tracks and then applying clear coat to them to prevent future corrosion. Before I repaired it, I would come out after a rain and find my dome lights on and sometimes my radio and a/c blower motor running (with no key in the ignition at all).
