Hey fellas, I have a 2000 F350 Super Duty with 240,000 miles on it. The AC has cold air coming out of it but there is simply not enough volume of air coming out to cool the cab.

Im assuming this is a simple blower motor issue. After 240,000 miles it is probably pretty tired. Has anyone else had this issue and if this is the problem, how difficult is it to change?

Ive found several replacement units on Ebay for $50ish.

Thanks in advance guys.

do all the speeds work for the blower motor??? if not, could be the blower motor resistor(controls the speeds for the motor)....

Yes, all the speeds work. It switches properly between AC, AC High, and all of the speeds on the control knob.

Have you checked the intake on passanger side? My truck sucked a plastic bag into the opening and cut volume of air going thru way down, thought my fan was on way out.

Also, check the heater core/evaporator fins in the heater box under the dash. They can get plugged up with lint n crap over the years. I've pulled many a blower motor and cleaned up the heater core/evaporator in my day! Also check to make sure the evaporator isn't icing up. Be sure not to run the a/c on max while on the slowest fan speed, or it might freeze on ya!

X2. Two or three times in the 10 years I've had my 2K.. I've removed the cowl..found the intake about half plugged with small leaves and stuff. I've also closed off all the dash vents.. plugged the floor vents.. and used a Shop-Vac.. in the Blower mode.. to blow backwards through the ducting. Amazing what comes outa there. :dunno

What bigrigr sez too.

The blower motor ain't that hard to R&R. Un-plug it.. a few screws.. Clean the Squirrel Cage fan too? (duh)

(Hmmmm.. been awhile.. I may do that again.. tomorrow)

Sounds good fellas. I had replaced the blower motor this weekend (wasnt expensive and like Big Joe says, its easy to replace) this did nothing though, so I ordered a blower motor resistor for it. I havent put this on yet, but I will check out the evaporator coils and try the backwards shop vac method.

I will report back and let you know.

where is this blower motor resistor?? Im leavin for a trip tomarrow and my truck blower motor wont work at all! Just my luck, works great ever since I have had this truck and the day before I leave for a week it quits! I've hooked power up to the blower motor and it works so the motor is ok. I turn my blower knob and it doesnt do anything. Blower wont come on at all. I checked all fuses and relays. Seem to be workin. What else could it be.

Just for kicks and giggles. Have you done the AC mod yet? I'm wondering if its blowing enough air but not cold enough. ( It's hot as hades everywhere LOL )
