I recently went on a trip with my 7.3, while on the trip I used my cruise control most of the time. I guess I've got a loose connection somewhere because whenever I hit a rough patch of road the cruise would disengage, the speedo would drop 5-10 mph real fast until I could manually catch it; but then when the road smoothed back out it allowed me to reset the cruise. Any ideas where to look for a loose connection?
Thanks!

Hmmm perhaps the Vehicle speed sensor plugged into the top forward part of the rear axle pumpkin. I've had that come loose which sent the speedo askew and the ABS light illuminate.

That's where I'd look. When my VSS went bad, the speedo went intermittantly from actual speed to near 0mph, the O/D light was flashing, the cruise control quit working and the ABS light came on.

A new VSS for about a dozen bucks, a 10mm socket and ratchet, a big piece of cardboard and about 10 minutes of my time and it was fixed.

May need to stop by your local auto parts store that does free code scans then see what displays.

I checked the VSS, seems to have a good connection..any ideas?
Thanks!

It may be a bad VSS itself. I've heard that sometimes just cleaning the crud off the VSS helps. It's just a magnet, and after a while it'll pick up metalic crud from inside the pumpkin as the gears and bearing wear.
