they should not have installed a drop track bar bracket for 2.5". Question though did they also install a drop pitman arm?

Why not? I would think that keeping the trackbar paralell to the axle would be a good thing, no matter if it's 2.5" or 8"?

Ix-nay on the dropped pitman arm.

yes thats very true with one exception and that is you also have to do the same amount of drop pitman arm to make the drag link and track bar paralel to each other. the track bar and drag link being paralel is more important than the track bar and axle in your situation. and since there are no manufactures that build a 2.5" drop pitman arm none of them build a 2.5"drop track bar bracket. they say that it is not enough lift to affect the suspension geometry. so what that tells me is that whom ever installed you kit also installed a 4" drop track bar bracket which was too close to your diff cover. I say 4" because that is the smallest drop track bar bracket and pitman arm that is made for an F350 obs or superduty. and i bet you got some pretty bad bumpsteer too.

Stupid question, but what does bumpsteer feel like?

The replacement bracket, IIRC, dropped ~2" more than the stock trackbar bracket. FWIW, I bought the Revtek 2.5" leveling kit.

bumpsteer feels like a side to side motion in the steering wheel. when you go over a bump or through a pot hole with one tire then the other and you relax your grip on the steering wheel the truck will still track straight BUT the steering wheel will turn one way then the other as each front tire goes up and down.

and bump steer is the result of not having the trackbar and drag link paralel to eact other

i just looked on the revtek web site they are using a 2.5" drop track bar bracket. i was wrong but none the less you still have to match the draglink to the track bar
