A little Walk'n Money

In the past 8-9 months, I've been towing 5r's & TT's for folks.. through my local RV dealer.. to the Coast, to the Sierra's and around CenCal , to various vacation areas.

It's been VERY surprising to me, how many people there are out there, that buy RV's.. and don't even have a Pick-up, or Tow vehicle... to tow it.. or the slightest desire to own one

They'd rather pay someone (me) to tow it to their favorite vacation areas.. then pay someone else to "spot & set it up" each time they want to use it... at the locations.

We just spent a week at the coast (Pizmo). I talked with a "Spotter".. He makes his living at it, been doing it for 25 years, and has done quite well.

Jus thought I'd Pass It On.... Good way to make a little "Side" money, maybe ?????

Ya got that right !! Towed a 38 ft., 3 axle toy hauler about 60 miles.. to get the axels re-aligned.. the 7.3 did the pull, No Problem. the 350 side had about ALL it wanted tho...

I could tolerate doing that later on, in my retirement.

Might wana look into this Dave. Bowl'a Clam Chowder at the coast.. Steak in the mountins.. Tri-Tip here in the Valley.. 5 hour round trip.. no over-nighters. Fun to do.

I just let the RV dealer know I was available. It's not steady work.. by any means.. but Fun work, when I get a call. He knows me, and he knows my 350 is set up for towing 5r's & TT's.

I >ONLY< do these tows when a Commercail Service is not available, due to timing, work load, convenience or ability... being an issue. I do the tows.. for the Customer/Owner.. NOT the dealer. The dealer gives the customer my phone number.. if any of the above is an issue ? I'm available.

I've also gone to retrieve an RV or two, when the prime mover broke down. I only charge for my fuel.. on those.. any more than that would be "Dirty Money", to me. (if that sets a tone to what it's all about ?) (kinda like our Diesel 911 ?)
