Robert, I don't care how you got this, but thanks for posting it. Even though I was in the Navy, I wasn't a Squid. I was a Seabee and DAMN proud of it. The Marines sometimes call the Seabees Marines with light duty chits. :roflmao Also the Army has their construction units called Red Horse AKA Pink Ponies. Keith

I was told C B stood for Crazy Bas*erds. Especially, the ones that were in the DEEP SOUTH. Where else could you sit outside in 40* weather with shorts, and a t-shirt getting a tan and be warm. :roflmao Then the FNG's walk by in their parkas pointing at you complaining how unbearably cold it is. :dunno Oh, the old days and fond memories. Pretty good... :sweet

We called submariners squids, anyone who ran the surface was a skimmer.

I was stationed at Point Loma, Ca. for 2 years on a floating drydock. Yea, Joe I know. What the H*** is an Equipment Operator doing on a floating drydock. I operated the cranes. The swab jockeys called the submariners bubbleheads. The funniest joke I ever heard them tell was a sub is the only ship the Navy has that deploys with 130 man crew and returns with 65 couples.
