99 to 08 front sheet metal

hello all.

not sure if this is possible but would the front end from a 08 fit a 99?

hood, grill, head lights etc.

not w/out modification...although plenty have done it <already>.

the issue primarily is the HOOD/Grill on the 08...the 08 fenders also
changed (side vent).

the grill & lights are basically the same from 99-04 (cosmetic changes)
and assuming were NOT talking about sealed beam headlights.

the 05-07 grill and headlights changed just enough that you have to
modify the housing behind the headlights and the grill if you expect 'em
to fit on a 99-04

in 08 SIGNIFICANT changes to the hood (grill is attached) occurred and
require the replacement of the front clip (for the most part).

Like Bush said, you've got to deal with a different type of hood since the 08 grille is part of the hood. The latch will be in a different spot.

The bend on the front of the fenders is different from 99-07 to 08. You have to get the hood,fenders,grille,bumper,headlights and the front core support. Then you have to modify the mounting point on the frame to attached the bumper and hood latch.
I considered this for my project truck more than once, but decided it was just too much hassle.

I say go for it, then do a write up for everyone.

Yes there are a few trucks out there and they went ahead and replaced both fenders and the hood.

Do a search on the conversion, any 05-07 headlights work no need to entire front clip
