99 SD Power Mirror Disassembly

On my 99 F250 SD I have factory power exterior mirrors (trailer tow?), the ones with the 2 arms. The paint on the arms is 50% flaked of & I want to refinish & paint the arms. I'd like to take the mirror heads off the arms. I have the front mirror casing removed. The rear mirror casing, that holds the actual mirror & power motor has 2 screws behind the mirror assy & 1 stud with a nut, holding the head assy to the arms. The mirror glass ( and motor?) has to be removed to access 1 of the 2 screws mentioned above. Anybody know how to do this?

I have not pulled the glass out of the 99 mirrors, but I did on my new 08 mirrors, you just grab on to one edge and pop it out of the holder. It was a little scary the first time ( especially because I was pulling it on speculation) but ofter that is was no big deal. BUT I am not saying that the 99 mirrors come out that way for sure, it's just a good guess. I'd just pull on one carefully and see what happens

well i have 08 mirrors and was in need to remove the glass to run wires and lights, was wondering if the power motor could be put on these mirrors
