how do i adjust it?is it like a mercedes style ebrake,where it has little shoes inside the rotors?

Yes, it has a smaller drum inside the disc.

Crawl under the rear of your truck and LOOK for the plug at the bottom of the backing plate. Turn it until you get a little drag and back off until it is just free.
