Im thinking my new MBRP smokers kit will be here later this week. Its the full
4in turbo back system with dual 6" miter cut stacks. Any tips on removing the exhaust. Im thinking removing the downpipe will be the most troublesome? Anything else I should be looking forward to?

Get your self some sharp Saw Zall blades and cut it out of there. You will save a lot of time by cutting it out of there. You will never use it again. Don't screw with it.

I'll second the saw zall.

Only thing faster is a torch.

FWIW, you'll have to unbolt the down pipe from the turbo. No sawzalls or torches allowed there.:eek:

Then you might have to cut the downpipe in two to get it out.

I got mine out complete with a little work. It would have been much easier to cut it out but I wanted it in case I needed for some reason......I know...I'm crazy.

Well so far when I got the truck I went ahead and cut before the muffler and removed the muffler and tail pipe. Made a big diff. Its just a straight pipe. Does the downpipe come off the turbo pretty easy? Do I have to reuse the gasket or do you think the new system has one? I just ordered my mbrp full s.s. 409 smokers kit with 6" miter cut stacks. Should be here later this week. How much power and mpg you guys think I will gain?
