I have a 99 F250 SD XLT with the 7.3L. During the past two or three months it has started to act up but only every now and then. I noticed it the first time on my way to work. I was doing about 35 mph and it felt like I lost all power for about a half second and then everything seemed fine. A couple weeks later it did the same thing but when I stopped at the next red light the truck died after about 10 seconds. I put it in neutral and it started right back up. It did this about three more times on my way home. The weather was kinda light rain. It didnt happen again for a couple weeks. It seems like it is always rainy outside when it happens. Has anyone else had this problem? The guy at NAPA feels like it's an electrical problem due to moisture.

It's a good chance you have a leaky windshield and your getting water on the fuse block and gem module. It seems to be more prevalent with the 99's for some reason.

could be the IDM on the left fender. the cases have been known to leak and water gets inside them. search here on the boards, i think JLDickmon dealt with this a little while ago.

Wonder if my interior lights staying on after car wash and during rain have anything to do with this fuse box leaking?
