My 99 superduty has encountered a po266 code and misses. Which is cyl #2 high to low out of spec. I have traced the wiring to the injector and found nothing wrong whic tells me the injector is probably bad. The question I have is.... Can I get away with replacing the solenoid to repair the problem or will I have to replace the whole injector. Or am I missing something i should be looking for? I didnt ohm the injector because I dont the what the reading should be.

Injectors I believe should be somewhere between 2 and 6 ohms. When I did mine, they all measured about 3.6.

How exactly did you eliminate all of the wiring being a culprit? I've got the same issue as you, except i dont have a miss, and my injector circuit is open on cylinder 7. How did you test the wiring harnesses?

I unplugged everything from the idm to the injector and ohmed each harness individually. I f they are 0 then they are good if they are open or infinity then they need repaired or replaced. I went from the idm to the injector with a dvom, could not find an open in the system anywhere. Just had not gotten to the injector due to not having the info i needed for resistance. I fi decide to replace the solenoid which I cant seem to find online hardly at all, and that doesnt rerpair the problem then I guess the only other alternative is the IDm and very rarely have I had to replace one of those on a PS. Usually its a wire problem or ground problem. Not on this one though.

Have you checked the bulk connecter on the drivers side harness for chaffed wires? That is a big culprit on the 200 to 2003 models I have worked on due to the connecter being large enough that the wires rub ob the valve cover, after a while they rub through the insulation and touch the valve cover and short out which can cause solenoid failure and or idm failure. CAN not WILL. Not sure why yours isnt missing. Does it pass a buzz test and cyl contribution test? If so it may an internal injector problem.

passes the contribution test and fails the buzz test...i get P1277. You have to match the wire colors up to check the harness right?

That is correct. Check the wires at that square harness on the drivers side valve cover closely, u can miss it easily if its chamfered or rubbed

did you rip all of the looming off to expose them? That just looks like a pain and i dont want to do it if its not necessary
