#8 cyl failed cct test??

First if (new to me truck), has had a bad cyl 8 injector for a while does that hurt the cylinder? will it have done damage to the piston or the cylinder wall?
Has anyone heard of the gray cps causing a phantom 8 failed cct test.??

of did it just fail the balance test?

they did the contribution test 3 times it failed all 3 times.
Now I hear of the gray cps causing phantom 8cyl failed cct? I have a rough motor at 40mph, well, i feel it when the tc locks up.
whats the balance test?
