the engine information is relevant as to how you fix it. but basic diagnostic principals don't change.
you are correct, there are multiple 7.3L motors that ford used- the nomenclature is in the coffee table books. they used numbers and letters to identify each motor. wait until you try and running parts through international, they get broken down even more from there.
7.3 IDI non turbo 89-93
7.3 IDI turbo (yours) 93-94
7.3 DI turo- 1st gen Powerstroke motors. 94-98
7.3 DI turob 2nd gen Powerstroke motors, 99.5-2003.5
