This may be no help, but what the heck:
when my engine cut off dead stop @ 60+mph on a narrow shoulder-less road, and I got it hauled into the dealer under warranty, they replaced:
1. F7TZ 12K073 A synchronizer assembly qyt1
2. EEC Test, pinpoint test, replace cmp sensor and retest
That is, first they changed out a "syncronizer assy" and then the CMP.
No idea what it is, but it has run swell since June 12 when this was done.
