From this post you can obviously tell that I've a 7.3 but know from nothing. I read where you are "reading the codes". From where do you read these codes and where is the legend that tells you what the codes mean?

I recently changed my CPS (Grandson did it for me) because mine was also dying. Information on this site made all the difference. But my July, 1999 Superduty 4door F250 only has 142000 +/- miles and I sure don't want to be at a total loss wondering what to do if and when whatever happens.

Murphy's Law also dictates Grandson will not be with me!

I purchased a Superchips Tuner to read the codes with. I have not even bumped up the HP with it, and won't until I get this POS fixed.

It ate ANOTHER fricking sensor last Thursday. I am up to number 5...
FORD is putting a new Main Processor in it next week. Hope that helps!

This may be no help, but what the heck:

when my engine cut off dead stop @ 60+mph on a narrow shoulder-less road, and I got it hauled into the dealer under warranty, they replaced:
1. F7TZ 12K073 A synchronizer assembly qyt1
2. EEC Test, pinpoint test, replace cmp sensor and retest

That is, first they changed out a "syncronizer assy" and then the CMP.
No idea what it is, but it has run swell since June 12 when this was done.

Have you checked the PCM for a aftermarket chip?
The start and stall could be associated with a failing chip mounted on the PCM.
