Are you getting white/blue smoke at this start-up? That would tell me that you have a glow plug problem. They may need replacing, with the miles you have.

I hear ya man

I had the same problem on my 2001 350 psd. When i was working at international trucks in boston i got a really god deal on a pack of glow plugs and the relay, try to stay away from the dealer if possible cause the manufacture of the glow plugs for ford is the same the local parts stores use. But without the cost... Make sure when you pull the valve cover to check for a clip in each of the injector/glow plug connectors, international put out a special clip to keep the connectors from clacking loose and getting a dead bank of cylinders. If possible you might want to re-ring your injectors, about $8.00 for one injector o-ring kit. Probably not a bad idea if your going under the covers. Hope this helps keep trucking!

my 2003 did the same thing!! It was the connection inside the valve cover!! the last idiot mechanic broke the clip, so it raddled loose! I bought a new one, 54$ fix

did you guys get a check engine light when your valve cover harnesses were messing up? My light is on, says i have a short circuit in cylinder 1 & 3, but it runs fine...however sometimes when i start it...it kinda hicups for a sec

think this might be my problem?
