The only real issue i see is the valley holding about a gallon of fuel or oil when i get my next leak. Not comforting to think about, but these aren't 100 dollar clutches we're talking about either.

Here is a pic with the cover removed. I tapped one end of the seal inward and grabbed the other side with a hook and the seal came right out. Now I need to find someone who carries the seal.
I also checked the input shaft bearings by grabbing the shaft with my hand and jiggling it. There was no apparent play using this high tech method so i'm hoping that means the input shaft bearings are OK.

I didn't plug the hole that drains the valley because I was too concerned about the amount of oil/fuel that could pool in the valley if i did that.
What I did do though- I make a splash shield to cover the area so fuel can only travel through the valley hole and exit through the hole by the starter. Hope it works.
New question:
I put a used OE clutch set in. Everything was in great shape but the flywheel had some very light surface rust on the clutch side. The clutch feels great and engages very smoothly, but it starts engaging about 0.5" from the floor. It does fully disengage, but its fully engaged by the time the pedal is halfway up.
Do you think thats from the rust and maybe it will "break in" and work normally once the rust is ground off? Can the pedal be adjusted?

Sounds about right from my past trucks. 1/2" off the floor before it begins to engage.

X2 on what Dave says, if the clutch releases high, it's because the clutch disc is wore out. It's the first sign of a clutch on the way out.

That makes sense to me. My clutch was metal to metal for 20K miles and released up at the top.
