I bought a NAPA 6637 air filter this evening and got the plumbing for it at Lowes. After Installing it, I went for a test drive. I can now notice a deep and throaty sound while driving. Does the absence of an airbox make that much difference?

BTW: This thing breathes a lot easier now... I have to be careful when taking off, from a stop.. It loves to spin the tires...

The "cylinder" style air intakes deffinately take in more air than the box style which allows you to push more air out. I didn't really notice a throatier noise when I installed my AFE. I really noticed a a better sound after I straight piped it.

Of course you get a signature (no minimum post count needed)! Just go up to the "User CP" then to Options and Settings, Edit signature and add one in. Cheers!
