The rad coolant, winshield washer, power steering, brake, clutch, and crankcase fill. 6 possible, i imagine this one is an auto.

Everyone can pretty much GUESS at what they are...but im looking
for more concrete info...theyre placed in strange locations at best.

the Oil fill has changed (looks like a big can under the cap in
the far photo) and of course we can all make out the coolant & brake
fluid.

If one is a trans fill...then share w/ me which one...cause it would
be an industry FIRST here (and this truck is STILL using the torque
shift to my knowledge...which in its current form...is filled thru the
dip stick...like every other trans).

On 2nd look i now see the one IS probably washer fluid...cause
the tank is "clear" and up front...so thats 4 of 5 positivly identified.

The photos of ALL the trucks (so far) have been automatics...
so i DOUBT any of these are clutch, as you suggest, and if one is
clutch then again why isnt it a clear tank...and WHY would it be
so large !?!

Ill agree ONE of the 4 (seen in the photo) is probably power steering...
but if its in the picture it sure is placed weird ! the unidentifed fluid
top is at the firewall..next to the brake fluid...damm think looks
like a radiator cap almost.

i notice they moved the air cleaner to the passenger side...looks like
it might be getting its fresh air from the fender vent.

I wonder if those horns are better (look like they could be some of the
newer generation LOUD/Fiamm type)

its gonna be a challenge to add a coolant filter on this truck thats
for sure !

check out the size of the OIL fill "jug"....probably be able to
dump a whole gallon in that thing w/out having to wait for it
to go down...

is that an EGT probe i spy in the pipe between
the manifold and the 1st turbo ?

i also notice theyve done something to the accordian/flex joints
on the exhaust pipes...maybe they wont be such a source of cracking
and exhaust fume smell in the cab this year...

we dont know if this a manual or auto. i don't see a trans filler or dipstick.

waht looks like the ais poking out next to the drivers battery?

the horns are easy to get to too!

what about the serp belt diagram on the xmember? looks like a knot waiting to form

i blew up that cap as best i could, it s under pressure and has a glass "Sight glass"

would the clutch have a pressurized system????
or
under the 450 brake description it is very UNCLEAR about if they are a vacum boosted, )hydroboosted)powersteering boosted or a seperate system. maybe its a brake system pressure resivior???

we need a report from the fair, where are those guys :dunno :dunno :D

i wonder if that 5th cap it isnt related to the "SOOT" burning process...
i expect the trans dipstick/fill is outta view on the far side (where it
is for the current 6.0/tqshift.

correct me here...but ive not heard anything about changing up the
trans offerings.

im curious about the oil capacity...the filter cap is visable & looks like
its changes ever so slightly.

my wife hates the front end...im slowly warming to it...
she like the tailgate step...but said NO ONE, including HER
would be dancing at that pole (if i were lucky enough to drive one).

she likes the electrially folding mirrors, seat memory (even though shes
driven ours TWICE...under protest) and the DUAL climate control !

once i told 'er that the headlights were like that to keep from blinding
folks coming at you or infront of you @ traffic lights (or traveling down
the interstate) she was more accepting of the design (as i am).

i will have to TEMPER myself on this thing...and constantly remind myself
NOT to touch it in its FIRST YEAR AND A HALF...ill probably go drive it
just to see what its like (which could be the beginning of my mistake) ;)

iirc, the partculate filter used some sort of combustion process to regenerate and clear out the soot. i thought it was a an injetor/glowplug combination to actually ignite using fuel from the fuel system.

MBenz has a system with a urea caninster to inject urea into the exhaust gasses to reduce emissions. something like a 24000 mile life expectance. but i thought the whole bottle/cartridge got replaced, not refilled. (urea is pee). not sure if that is stateside or not. i wonder if there is a similar thing for these trucks.

where did we score the pic of the engine in the red truck?

can someone ask where these trucks are headed from next? will they be on display outside of texas?
