Hey guys, I have an 05 6.0 liter w/ an automatic, and it sat in the driveway for about a week, and I went to hop in it, and hit the key...and after the glow plug light went out i have nothing. I can hear the click from the relay under the dash, but no crank. I have jumpered out the solenoid and got it to fire up. Also I swapped out the starter relay, just to be sure. Both batteries are good, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. :dunno Like, what does the neutral safety switch look like if that could be it... I feel like a dummy here, so any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Doug

bad solenoid?

Dito, iracemine is right. If you had to jump the solenoid to start it sound like a bad one. The netural saftey switch only lets it start in park or netural. Usually if it is bad it will not even click when in park, but will crank fine in netural. hope this helps

Ok, it wont fire, the reverse lights dont work anymore, and when I jumped the solenoid to get it into the garage, the tow/haul light was blinking at me. Form what i have read, it is the digital transmission range sensor (which is inside the tranny), so I got one and swapped her out, and same result... any ideas?

I already took off the starter and had it checked. Maybe they didnt check the solenoid that is on it????
