I wont be going the way of the NAPA store. I have known these guys all my life and our family
has done business with them for a long long time. I say all of that so that no one will knock them o
r talk bad about them when I tell how they make up a custom O-ring.
I am not willing to take the chance, giving how much trouble it is to take this turbo in and out.
They take smaller O-rings of the same diameter, cut them and super glue them together. I was shocked.
He told me they do it all the time and have no problems as long as you aren't pulling on them (which I understand that),
but it just seemed weird to me.
That may work fine in some situations, but I just think in a turbo it would
not stay together long.
I told him that I would just order a new one from Garrett that I found, and that was OK with him. Like I said, these are good honest people, so please no bustin' their chops.
