Hey Guys...
Some other questions

What kind of power is safe range on the 6.0 transmission? 400RWHP, 450RWHP, or 500RWHP? Is this kind of testy waters to see what you can get away without have to reinforce/rebuild the transmission.

I saw a guy put down a lil over 500 to the ground on a 2wd 6.0, not sure if he had anything done to his transmission.

From 03.5 to 07 on the 6.0s, is that same transmission or did they change in 05?

Thanks for all the help, everybody has given me some good info.

Thanks Man for the info.

I read in your sig that you just installed jimmy jammers. Good call, I had a 7.3 that was stolen in less than 45 seconds with a straight screw driver. He stuck right into my door handle and then started the truck with the screw driver as well. Not sure how it is where you live, but here in Houston thats the #1 or #2 stolen truck. Be careful out there. My next truck will have the jammers and a kill switch.

Thanks again

Stock transmission power

I remember reading about the torque converter being built for about 750 foot pounds of torque maximum. Don't get too concerned about HP, it is just a mathematical equation using torque and RPM. Torque is what kills components. I would guess that if the TC is rated around 750 ftpds of torque, that would be the around the limit for the transmission also. Alot depends on how you build up the torque also, if it is slow and progressive, the parts will hold up a lot better than if it is violently applied all at once, like in drag racing. Usually the guys that build serious power into their engines do so for the drag racing or pulling, short high power runs. Anything over stock power will shorten the life of the components especially if racing/pulling is involved. You don't get anything for nothing - if you want power - get ready to pay the piper(or mechanic).
