Yes Dave is right, these bad boys need to warm up completely in order to run properly. If you dont they will smoke, shake and seem week with power. I will start mine up and let that sucker run for at least 10 min. As for the problem with the black smoke and running like crap, that sounds like a classic case of the EGR's.....kinda like a bad case of the runs....S### happens.
EGR delete...is the way to go!! going green is overrated!
