I also found out that if it starts to take just a little longer than normal to start, it can be a good indication that your lift pump is beginning to lose pressure and you need to have it looked at.

My 07 only has 4763 miles on it, and it seems to be taking a little longer to start too. I was thinking it was the difference between the winter and now summer fuel blends. Would the lift pump really be going out on a brand new truck?

Its the inconsistency that bother me. Sometimes it fires as fast a gas engine, then other times its slower than a locomotive.
