Not that Ill ever do anything about it, but could you bore out and replace pistons etc and make a late 03 6.0 a 6.4. Would it be worth it? Stupid question? 6.4 short block, 6.0 everything else? Just curious.

From everything I have read on the subject, the question has been asked and answered in the negative. But I'm not a gearhead like some of the guys here. Maybe they can shed some light on the question.

What are job 2 heads? I wont ever use em but I sure would like to know what they are. I thought these engines had wet liners, so you could bore out the block to accept the wet liners off of a 6.4? Again these are only hypothetical questions out of curiosity. What easier mods?

AFAIK, Job 2 refers to the second production run after the factory runs Job 1 and finds out the kinks in the production process, what new things work, and what doesn't. Changes in parts and assembly are made based on what is learned in the first months of production. Thus, Job 2.

I don't think it means anything like lesser quality, where the old motto "Quality is Job 1" means "Not so much Quality is Job 2", Nah, couldn't be. :D

Anyone supose it would be possible to transplant the twins from the 6.4 onto the 6.0. I wonder if there would be any clearance issues with this setup. Just thinking with the FMC setup maybe you would be able to retain the factory warranty on the motor?

If nothing else maybe we will find a few interchange parts that are a bit tougher than the stockers we replace at rebuild time.
